Robin Boot put a comment under my sneaky peak picture on facebook under #projectbittern (Once Bittern, twice shy) last night which has meant that I've had Christmas music running round my head since. Thanks. So I thought I'd share that one to inflict the ear worm on anyone who does read this.... It's OK, you're welcome ;-)

This is my largest (as in size - it's A4) print and longest in terms of time (on and off over two weeks - little bits of time here and there) I've done so far. Dave and I visited Brandon Marsh, where there has been a Bittern spotted, and despite our best watching, we didn't see it, so I came home and started my own :-) I am really pleased with how it has turned out. I've only done one print so far - the one that has been photographed for here - as a test print; an 'artist's proof' I suppose you could call it. I will 'pull' (I believe that's the correct word for it) a couple more over half term. My trusty spoon and I are getting to be better friends, and I am feeling more confident at checking the print as I am printing.

I also treated myself to a larger set of most lovely pfeil cutters of differing width and shape (some are a V shape and others more of a gently curved U shape), so I am looking forward to experimenting with some of the other ones - mostly the bigger/wider ones - that I haven't used yet. I have also taken delivery of some white paint too, and am planning an attempt at a reduction print using greys/black, hopefully over half term. I am just waiting for my head to settle down on a final idea of what I might try..... more birds or a landscape attempt? Hmmmm. However, I do have to solve the small problem of having to wait for more Japanese lino to come into stock at the online shop I used before, I have a few bits left still - fine as long as I don't hit some massive and uncontrollable creative streak.....

Next thing to finish is my ongoing drawing project, this one might take a while. Keep your eyes peeled for #projectdunnock. The bird theme continues :-)
